Kelsey Haycook scored a second-half equalizer for No. 17 La Salle who battled to a 1-1 draw against Rhode Island on Wednesday evening at the URI Soccer Complex.
The Explorers (15-0-2, 7-0-1) earned a first round bye in the upcoming Atlantic 10 tournament and could clinch the number one seed with a win or a tie on Friday at Fordham.
The Rams (6-9-2, 1-5-1) burst out of the gates in the opening half and drew first blood when Alexis Veith scored her fourth goal of the season in the 24
th minute to go up 1-0.
For Haycook, the goal is her team-leading 16
th of the season as she continues to lead the Atlantic 10 in scoring.

Melissa Sanger made six saves in net, most of them coming late, and allowed just her fifth goal of the season to preserve the tie for La Salle.
The squad will now look to clinch their first regular season A-10 title in school history on Friday night at Fordham.
Friday's match against the Rams will begin 30 minutes following the men's game, which will start at 5 p.m.
