CHARLOTTE – The volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-23, 25-13, 25-18) to Charlotte in a Sunday afternoon Atlantic 10 match.

Senior Jacquelyn Mitrovich led the Explorers with eight kills. Senior Alex Kennedy added three block assists.

Senior Kourtney Clark posted a team-leading nine digs and 18 assists.

The Explorers came out strong to start the match. They took a 7-2 lead in the first set, causing the 49ers to call a timeout.

La Salle would stay on top until Charlotte used a four point run to get within one at 20-19.  The 49ers took a 23-22 lead after a kill by Sheri Davis and the Explorers couldn't come back for the victory.

In the second set, Charlotte used the momentum to put together a five-point run that put the team up 8-5.  The 49ers went on to win, 25-13.

The third set was pretty evenly played at the outset.  The teams traded points until Charlotte used a 6-1 run to go ahead, 17-11.  The Explorers fought back, but fell 25-18.

The Explorers will continue their three match road trip with a visit to Rhode Island on Friday.
