Randy Kurzinsky led La Salle with a six-over 76 in Saturday's first round at the Philadelphia Big 5 Invitational at Plymouth Country Club. Kurzinsky is tied for 48
th in the 114 player field. As a team, the Explorers shot a 314 and lead fellow city rivals Drexel and Saint Joseph's.
Sophomore
Mike Johnson carded a 77 (+7) and is tied for 59
th, while freshman
Greg Goodreds shot a 80 (+10) and is tied for 85
th.
Sophomore
Tyler Fewell (81, t-94
th) and classmate
Chris Costantino (89, 114
th) rounded out the La Salle scorecard.
As a team, La Salle is in 19
th place but only 14 strokes out of the top 10. Dartmouth shot an impressive 286 (+6) and leads Penn by four strokes. Campbell, Temple and St. John's round out the top five.
Penn's Ben Cooley shot a three-under 67 and leads Peter Williamson of Dartmouth and Seton Hall's Brandon Park by one stroke.
