PHILADELPHIA - The nine crew members of the La Salle men's varsity eight boat were voted La Salle's Student-Athletes of the Week for their terrific performance on Saturday at the annual Frostbite Regatta on the Cooper River.

The V8 captured first place in its race, clocking a 6:20.07 to top second place Lehigh by over 10 seconds. The Explorers also topped Binghamton, Rutgers-Camden and Lafayette in the race. The strong showing helped the Explorers conclude the fall rowing season on a high, as the team now spends the next few months preparing for the spring season.

The rowers in the V8 were: Jonathan Shank (bow), Tyler Sullivan (2), Sandor Kokeny (3), Giovanni Finazzo (4), Michael Hopp (5), Steve Devine (6), Brett Kader (7), Matt Horn (stroke) and Keith Ferguson (coxswain).
