PHILADELPHIA – The volleyball team will wrap up a three-game road trip with a match against Rhode Island on Friday evening and follow it up with a home contest at Tom Gola Arena against Xavier on Sunday.
 
The match against Xavier will be streamed live through GoExplorers.tv.
 
La Salle is coming off a rough 3-2 loss to Temple and then a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Charlotte over the weekend.
 
The Explorers (5-23, 1-10) have already defeated Rhode Island once this season, a 3-2 victory at home on October 1.  In the victory, three Explorers added double digit kills, including senior Jacquelyn Mitrovich and juniors Kelly Scanlon and Samantha Tulskie.
 
The Rams have lost four of their last five matches, but sit tied for sixth in the Atlantic 10.  Senior Kayla Wilson leads the team with 3.73 kills per set, good for third in the conference.
 
Currently the second-place team in the A-10, the Musketeers (16-9, 8-3) will present a challenge for La Salle on Sunday afternoon.  
 
Xavier sits third in the conference in both blocks per set (2.25) and hitting percentage (.222).
 
Sarah Brown and Aubree Smith were named the A-10 Offensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively, as they helped their squad to a 2-0 weekend with wins over George Washington and Rhode Island.
