LEWISBURG, Pa. – The men's swimming & diving team placed third at the Bucknell Invite with 1070 points as the Explorers finished competition at the three-day event on Sunday.
Senior
Austin Thomas capped off his strong weekend by winning the 100-free in 45.38. The Cherry Hill, N.J. native broke two school records during the meet and picked up three individual first-place finishes.
Junior
Blase Szyszko finished second in 200-breast (2:04.79), while senior
Eric Patenaude came in seventh (2:12.34) in the same event.
Junior
Brian Batson touched fifth in the 200-free in 47.02.
In the 1650-free, junior
Zach Anderson came in eighth (16:41.49). Senior
Joe Jung also had an eighth-place finish in the 200-fly (1:55.79).
On Saturday evening, Thomas, Szyszko and senior
Jordan Baker each picked up an individual first-place finishes. Thomas won the 100-fly in after breaking the school record in the event preliminaries earlier in the day, while Szyszko came out on top in the 100-breast (56.38).
Baker won the 3-meter dive with 318.30 points.
Dan Fitzgerald, Szyszko, Edward Carnes and Thomas paced the Explorers to a victory in the 200-medley relay. Complete day two results can be found

The Explorers will face Bucknell again when the Bison travel to Kirk Pool on December 3.
