NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Sophomore Samantha Tulskie has been named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team and sophomore Melanie Sarcinello was selected to the Academic All-Conference Team, as announced by the A-10 today.

The teams were selected based on a vote by the league’s head coaches.

Tulskie, who joined the lacrosse team this season, played in all 16 games and finished tied for third on the Explorers in goals.

The Springfield, Pa. native scored her first hat trick on the road at St. Bonaventure and also added an assist in that game as well.

Sarcinello maintains a 3.77 GPA as a nursing major. She was the offensive leader for the Explorers this season, adding 36 goals and scoring in all but one contest.  The sophomore currently sits ninth in the A-10 in goals per game.

A native of Newtown Square, Pa., Sarcinello also led La Salle in draw controls, with 30, and finished second on the squad with 23 ground balls.

Against Davidson in March, Sarcinello added a career-high eight goals, including the final two to seal the win for La Salle.
