BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The La Salle field hockey team raced to a 2-0 lead after 12 minutes of play but host Lehigh came back to score a 4-3 overtime victory over the Explorers on Sunday. Freshman

Olivia Shoemaker also found the back of the cage for LU.
Shoemaker got the Explorers on the board in the 7th minute after taking a pass from junior
Janel Paukovits. Five minutes later Jennings deflected a shot off the stick of senior
Lindsay Fry during a penalty corner and the visitors led 2-0.
Lehigh answered back quickly, when Caitlyn Mitchell scored in the 16th minute. With eight minutes to go before halftime, Abby Tilton found the back of the cage to tie the score.
Tettelbach continued her impressive rookie campaign in the 52nd minute to give the Blue and Gold a 3-2 lead. After a sophomore
Mariel Papa shot, Tettelbach took the rebound and scored with just under 18 minutes to play.
Unfortunately for Explorer fans, Lehigh answered back four minutes later when Kimberly Eng tied the game at 3-3. Neither team could break the tie in regulation and the game went into overtime.
Just 2:20 into the extra session, Tilton took a pass from Eng to give the Mountain Hawks the dramatic victory.
La Salle outshot the hosts, 25-20 and penalty corners were tied at 9-9.
Freshman goalie
Lisa Shaffer made seven saves in goal, while Sierra Segear stopped 14 shots for Lehigh (1-3).
The Explorers (2-4) return to action on Friday when they host Towson.
