PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle field hockey team will play its fourth game at DeVincent Field in the past five contests when it hosts Towson on Friday at 4 PM. The Explorers split a pair of games last week, defeating Siena, 6-0, and falling to Lehigh in overtime, 4-3.
Scouting the Explorers (2-4, 0-0 Atlantic 10)
Thanks in part to the six goal outburst against Siena, La Salle is the A-10's top offensive team. The Explorers lead the conference in points and goals per game. Defensively, La Salle is second nationally in defensive saves with five and leads the A-10 in saves/game.
Individually, freshman
Maddy Tettelbach has won the past two Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honors. She is second in the league in points and goals per game.
On defense, redshirt sophomore
Haley Jennings is third in the nation in defensive saves while freshman
Lisa Shaffer is 13
th nationally in saves game and second in the A-10. She is also second in save percentage in the league and 17
th nationally.
Sophomores
Mariel Papa and
Olivia Shoemaker each have scored three goals for the Explorers while junior
Neelam Kumar has added two.

Towson has won two straight games after dropping its first three contests to start the season. This will be the third straight game against a Big 5 opponent after beating Saint Joseph's, 4-3, and Penn, 2-1.
Kim Schnell leads the Tigers with three goals and seven points. Kate Nolan (six points) and Katie DeFillippo (five points) also pace the offense.
