PHILADELPHIA - The Explorers will compete in their final regular season tournament this weekend when they travel to the Lehigh Valley to play in the Lehigh/Lafayette Crosstown Tournament.
On Friday, La Salle will face Lafayette at 6:00 p.m., followed by matches against Princeton and Lehigh on Saturday.
The Explorers are coming off a 2-2 weekend at third-place finish at the Hartford/Quinnipiac Invitational. Leading the team in kills, junior
Kelly Scanlon was named to the All-Tournament Team, along with junior
Samantha Tulskie.
Junior
Breanna Mazalewski has 26 aces on the year, .62 per set, which is good for 10
th in Division 1.
The Leopards enter the tournament with the best record of the competition La Salle will face this weekend. At 6-3, Lafayette has had three wins in its last four matches. The Leopards' feature two top hitters in Camissa Beghou and Kaitlynn Zoller.
Princeton recently went 1-2 at the Rutgers Tournament last weekend. It was there the squad picked up its biggest win of the season, a five-set victory over Big East opponent St. John's. The Tigers have hit .213 as a team this season and libero Hillary Ford has anchored the defense with 5.31 digs per set.
Lehigh is coming off a 3-0 loss to Rutgers on Tuesday evening. Sitting at 4-5 on the season, the Mountain Hawks' attack is led by Angelika Kopacz who averages 3.09 kills per set.
