PHILADELPHIA - La Salle will look to take down a local rival when it hosts Villanova on Wednesday at 4 PM at DeVincent Field. The Explorers are in the midst of a three-game home swing which concludes on Saturday vs. Siena. Today's game is part of the "Big Game Series" in the Explorer Entourage Fan Challenge.

Scouting the Explorers (1-2, 0-0 Atlantic 10)

The Blue and Gold dropped a pair of games last weekend to Rider (2-0) and Columbia (4-2). Mariel Papa and Janel Paukovits recorded goals vs. Columbia. The Explorers outshot the Lions, 18-14, and held a 10-8 lead in corners.

Freshman Lisa Shaffer is second in the A-10 in GAA (2.33), save pct. (.811) and saves (30). Classmate Maddy Tettelbach is the reigning A-10 Rookie of the Week after scoring two goals in a 4-1 win at Georgetown last Tuesday.

Villanova has also dropped two straight since defeating Robert Morris, 3-1, in the season opener. The Wildcats dropped a 1-0 decision to Cornell and lost to Delaware 5-0.
