PHILADELPHIA – The men's swimming & diving team gave its seniors a 163-133 victory over Fordham during their last meet at Kirk Pool on Saturday afternoon. Seniors
Jordan Baker and
Austin Thomas led the Explorers with two individual victories on the day.
Baker won both the 1-meter (269.63) and 3-meter dives (296.93). Thomas posted first-place finishes in the 50-free ( 21.49) , as well as the 100-fly (50.79).
Senior
Eric Patenaude placed second in both the 100-breast (1:02.30) and 200-breast (2:14.54).
Fellow senior Edward Carnes took third in the 200-back (2:01.17) and fourth in both the 100-back (55.02) and 100-fly (54.67).
Joe Jung took third in the 200-fly (1:59.24) and fifth in the 200-IM (2:05.96) to round out the seniors' performances.
Several other Explorers clocked first-place finishes in their respective events. Junior
Blase Szyszko won both the 100-breast (59.74) and 200-breast (2:10.26).
Junior
Zach Anderson took first in the 1000-free (9:57.96). Sophomore
Sean McCall would win the other distance free event for the Explorers, taking the 500-free in 4:51.02.
Sophomore
Cameron Cabrera won the 200-free, clocking in at 1:44.54.
The Explorer men would win the 200-medley relay in 1:36.53 to start off the meet.
La Salle will be in action again next week when it travels to swim Loyola on Friday evening in Baltimore.
