PHILADELPHIA - A late fourth set charge by Charlotte proved too tall a task for La Salle, which fell 3-1 (25-13, 19-25, 25-20, 27-25) to the 49ers (10-12, 2-8 A-10) on Friday evening at Tom Gola Arena.

Down 2-1 in the fourth frame, the Explorers held a 23-18 lead before a 9-2 Charlotte run halted La Salle's comeback effort. The visitors hadn't led in the period since an 8-7 advantage early on.

As a team, Charlotte hit .199 (58 kills-24 errors-171 attempts) while La Salle posted a .115 (40 kills-22 errors-156 attempts) clip. The 49ers edged the Explorers in team blocks, eight to six.

Samantha Tulskie recorded her 14th double-double (12 kills [.102], 18 digs) of the season while Kelly Scanlon registered 9 kills (.188) and 15 digs. 

La Salle (4-22, 0-10 A-10) hosts VCU tomorrow in its final home match of the season. Senior day festivities will begin at 4:15 p.m.
