Day 1 Results
LEWISBURG, PA – The men's swimming and diving squad currently sits in fifth place after the first day of competition at the Bucknell Invitational. The men racked up 223 points, just 21 points behind fourth place Binghamton.
The relay of
Brian Batson,
Daniel Fitzgerald,
Dave Derr, and
Jonathan Cabral picked up a fourth place finish in the 200 yard freestyle relay, clocking in a time of 1:24.08.
Senior
Zach Anderson was the lone A-Final qualifier for the men's team tonight, qualifying in seventh position in the 500 yard freestyle after the morning prelims. Anderson clocked a 4:38.88 in the morning session and a 4:43.79 in the final heat at night, good for eighth place overall.
Freshman
CJ Gimpel was the highest finisher for the men's team today, placing third on the 1 meter board with a score 274.10 points.
Batson, Cabral, and Fitzgerald finished 1-2-3 in the B final of the 50 yard freestyle, posting times of 21.21, 21.23, and 21.44, respectively.
The Explorers begin tomorrow's morning preliminary events at 10:00 AM and finals begin at 6:00 PM.
