Day 2 Results
LEWISBURG, PA – The men's swim and dive squad moved up the leader board after the second day of competition at the Bucknell Invitational. The Explorers overtook Binghamton for fourth place with a two-day team score of 581 points.
Senior
Daniel Fitzgerald earned the first win of the meet for the Explorers, taking first in the 100 yard backstroke in a time of 50.47. Fitzgerald also produced the second fastest 50 yard backstroke split on the 200 yard medley relay, recording a 23.51.
Senior
Blase Szyszko secured a second place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 56.86, the fastest time recorded by an Explorer this year. Szyszko was edged by Yale's Andrew Heymann by a mere six one-hundredths of a second for first place. Freshman
Johan Roth swam a personal best 57.33 which was good enough for fifth place. Roth also added a tenth place finish in the 400 yard individual medley after posting another personal best of 4:06.66.
Junior
Cameron Cabrera picked up a third place finish in the 200 yard freestyle, touching the wall in 1:41.34, just four one-hundredths of a second shy of a personal best. Senior
Brian Batson added an eighth place finish with a time of 1:43.16.
On the 3 meter board, freshman
CJ Gimpel notched a sixth place finish with a score of 280.60.
The Explorers begin the third and final day of competition at 10:00 AM and finals begin at 5:00 PM.
