Men's Swimming & Diving Heads To A-10 Championships

PHILADELPHIA – The men's swimming & diving squad will look to return to the podium at this year's Atlantic 10 Swimming & Diving Championships held at the Flickinger Aquatics Center in Buffalo, N.Y. from Wednesday until Saturday.

Last season La Salle finished in third place.

This year the relays will be a strength of the Explorers.  La Salle has earned the top seed in the 200-medley relay as well as the 200-free relay.

Senior Austin Thomas will compete in his final A-10 championships and has the potential for a phenomenal finish to his record-setting career at La Salle.  He is slated as the top seed in the 50-free, 100-free and 100-fly.  Senior Edward Carnes should also challenge in the 100-fly.

In the breaststroke events, junior Blase Szyszko will pace the Explorers and will look to build upon last year's silver medal finish in the 100-breast.

The Explorers have a chance to place well in the 100-back, with junior Dan Fitzgerald, Carnes and sophomore Dave Derr all earning top 12 seeds.

Senior Joe Jung could round out his La Salle career with top ten finishes in the 400-IM and 200-fly.

The Explorers will look to senior Jordan Baker, who has several top-ten A-10 Championship diving finishes to his name, to lead the diving corps.

The championships will get underway on Wednesday evening with the 200-medley relay and 800-free relays, as well as the men's 1-meter diving finals.
