PHILADELPHIA – La Salle baseball players have been excelling in summer league action, with two pitchers, Pat Christensen and Ryan Donohue, having fine seasons in the prestigious Cape Cod League.
 
Christensen is 1-0 with a 1.00 ERA in eight appearances for the Orleans Firebirds. In nine innings, he has struck out 11 batters and allowed just six hits. Orleans leads the CCL Eastern Division with a 13-4 record.
 
Donohue has posted a 3.38 ERA in five appearances, throwing eight innings. He has struck out 13 batters and has walked just two for the Bourne Braves of the Cape Cod League.
 
In the Valley League, Shawn O'Neill  is 1-0 with four saves and a 1.20 ERA for the Harrisonburg Turks.  He has struck out 30 batters in 31 innings and opponents are batting just .168 against him. The Turks are 12-6 in league play and a game out of first place.
 
A trio of Explorers is playing for the Strasburg Express in the Valley League – Adam Cherry, George Smith, Jr., and Ryan Welling. Cherry is 1-1 with 16 strikeouts in 20.1 innings, while Smith is batting .270 with 13 RBI in 24 starts. Welling has five doubles and a home run while making 19 starts.
 
Justin Korenblatt is batting .377 with 11 steals for the Gaithersburg Giants Blue of the Maryland Collegiate League, while Kevin Baron is batting .286 with 12 RBI for the Gaithersburg Giants Red team.
