Juliana Carfagno scored her first collegiate goal but it was the only offense the La Salle field hockey team could muster in a 4-1 loss at UC Davis on Monday afternoon to wrap up its trip to California. Sophomore goalie
Lisa Shaffer stopped 11 shots to keep the Blue and Gold in the contest.
The Aggies (2-0) outshot La Salle, 12-3, in the first half but Shaffer's eight saves kept the score at 1-0 on Emily Mecke's goal in the 34th minute. UC Davis added goals in the 43rd and 49th minute to make it 3-0 before Carfagno found the back of the cage in the 54th minute. Junior

UCD added an insurance goal with three minutes to play when Cloey LemMon scored her second of the game.
The Aggies out-shot La Salle 28-4 and held a 15-4 advantage in penalty corners. Junior
Olivia Shoemaker had three of La Salle's four shots.

Olivia Leaman made her third defensive save in as many contests for the Explorers (1-2).
