2013 La Salle Lacrosse Schedule

PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle lacrosse team will open its season on Saturday, February 16, for the first of nine nonconference games, as the 2013 schedule is now available.

The Explorers will host Mount St. Mary's in that opening game, and will also host Long Island, Delaware, Central Connecticut State, Massachusetts, Richmond and Temple in 2013.

The team will head on the road to Drexel, Howard, Fresno State, San Diego State, Lafayette, George Washington, Saint Joseph's, Duquesne and St. Bonaventure.

"We are very excited about the schedule we have put together for the upcoming season," Head Coach Candace Taglianetti Bossell said. "We have some of our familiar rivalries that are always exciting games, as well as new opponents that we will be facing." 

The Explorers put together a program-record 10 wins last season, going 10-6 overall and a strong 6-3 at home. Atlantic 10 Second Team pick Melanie Sarcinello returns for her senior season after leading the squad with 39 points (33 goals, 6 assists) last year.

Caitlyn Brostrand, a 2012 Atlantic 10 All-Rookie pick, led the Explorers with 36 goals scored and added an assist for 37 points. All-Rookie pick Claire Andrews, who recorded 27 points on 25 goals and two assists, will also be back on the field for the Explorers.

"We hope to build upon the success of last season and continue to make history along the way," Taglianetti Bossell added.

The 2013 Atlantic 10 Championship semifinals begin on April 26 at Warren P. McGuirk Alumni Stadium on the campus of the University of Massachusetts, with the championship game to follow on April 28.
