TOWSON, Md. - The La Salle volleyball team fell to Towson 3-1 (25-18, 12-25, 17-25, 14-25) on Tuesday evening.

The Explorers busted out of the gates with an impressive first set win behind a .391 team hitting percentage. The set was highlighted by 4 kills (.571) by Samantha Tulskie and 3 each from Jennifer Whelan (.750) and Kelly Scanlon (.600). Defensively, La Salle held the Tigers to a .176 hitting clip.

However, Towson (12-3) rebounded with three straight set victories en route to finishing off the Explorers in four.

Tulskie recorded her eighth double-double of the season, finishing with 11 kills (.152) and 10 digs. Scanlon contributed 12 kills (.194) and 8 digs while Breanna Mazalewski added 12 digs of her own. Rachel Melich registered 24 assists while Michelle Healy posted 13.

La Salle is back on the court Friday at 7PM in their Atlantic 10 Conference opener against Fordham.
