PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle Athletic Department is mourning the passing of John Dever '57, a member of the Hall of Athletes as a rower on the 1957 Dad Vail Championship team. 

Mr. Dever, 76, was a 1953 graduate of La Salle College High School and a 1957 graduate of La Salle College. He was a retired school teacher from Centennial School District. John was a long time member of the Malta Boat Club, Schuylkill Navy, and Dad Vail Regatta Committee.

He is survived by his children Michael (Susan), Joann Pisch (Michael), Joseph (Sheila), John (Maureen), and Gregory (Christine), his sister Maryanne Ginley (the late Gerald P.), 13 grand-children, niece Maureen A. Vorobec, and great nephew Patrick and Patricia A. Dever (nee McDonnell)

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Thursday evening September 27, 2012 from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the JOHN J. BRYERS FUNERAL HOME INC., 406 N. Easton Rd., Willow Grove PA 19090. 

Funeral Mass at 12 P.M. on Friday September 28, 2012, at St. David RC Church, 316 N Easton Rd., Willow Grove PA 19090. Interment to follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Mass Cards are appreciated. NO MORNING VIEWING ON FRIDAY.
