WASHINGTON, D.C. - La Salle had its 19-game A-10 regular season unbeaten streak snapped on a rainy Friday afternoon in a 1-0 loss at George Washington. Sophomore Jessica Wiggins made one save for the Explorers, who fall to 9-3-1, 1-1-0 A-10. GW improves to 5-2-3, 2-0-0 A-10.
La Salle had not lost a regular season conference game since October 29, 2010, going undefeated during the 2011 and 2012 regular seasons on its way to NCAA Tournaments.

The Colonials got on the board in the fourth minute on a goal from Jane Wallis and was able to keep the shutout against the league's second most potent offense. La Salle had 18 shots but seven saves from GW's Nicole Ulrick helped the hosts to the victory.

Courtney Niemiec and Renee Washington each had four shots to pace the Blue and Gold.

The southern swing will not get any easier with a trip to A-10 runner-up VCU on Sunday at 2:30 PM. The Rams entered Friday's matchup with Fordham with a 6-4-1 record and 1-0-0 mark in the league.
