Golf Moves Up In The Standings, Finishes 12th At Temple Invitational

HUNTINGDON VALLEY, Pa.
- The La Salle golf team carded a 300 on the second day of the Temple Invitational, moving up two spots to finish 12th with a 36-hole score of 607. Senior Mike Johnson shot a 74 (+4) to place 16th with his two-round total of 146 (+6).

Junior Greg Goodreds had a consistent 74-75=149 (+9) to place 39th, while junior Matt Plummer shot a 76 on Sunday. His 36-hole score of 79-76=155 (+15) was good for a tie for 70th.

Senior Tyler Fewell carded a 84-75=159 (+19), rallying nicely on Sunday, to place 78th. Classmate Tommy Horgan had a 82-83=165 (+25) to round out the Explorers lineup.

La Salle added five birdies on Sunday to total 14 for the weekend in its Birdies Fore Breast Cancer fundraiser.

Hartford ran away with the event by 15 strokes over second place St. John's (577). Cincinnati, Harvard and Temple rounded out the top five. The Hawks' Evan Russell captured medalist honors by eight strokes with his 62-68=130 (-10).

The Explorers wrap up the fall season at the Seton Hall Intercollegiate which begins on Sunday.
