PHILADELPHIA—La Salle women's soccer is set to open its 2013 Atlantic 10 Conference season against visiting Fordham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday night. The Explorers have not lost a regular season conference matchup since October 29, 2010, a streak spanning more than two seasons.
Coach Royal spoke with Matt Leon of KYW 1060 News Radio about the 18-game unbeaten streak in an interview available
here.
Scouting the Explorers
The Explorers boast a 16-1-1 record at McCarthy Stadium during the past three seasons and are looking to continue to capitalize on their home field advantage. Leading the league in shutouts (7) and second in goals against average (0.87), La Salle's staunch defense will be key in its pursuit of a victory over the Rams.
Seven different Explorers have found the back of the net this season though none more frequently than junior
Kelsey Haycook who leads the squad with eight goals.

Scouting the Rams
Fordham has started off conference play on the right foot, upending Rhode Island earlier this week in a 3-1 victory at home. Junior Maria Lorena Canicatti scored twice in the match, marking the first multi-goal game of her career.
The Rams are led offensively by senior Kelsey Dougherty Howard's four goals this season, accounting for a third of the squad's total goals.
The potent offensive of the Explorers should prove difficult for the Rams, who rank 12
th of 13 in the league in goals allowed (21).
