LUBBOCK, Texas – Pat Christensen threw five scoreless innings in relief to earn the win as the La Salle baseball team took down Texas Tech, 6-5, in 12 innings on Saturday night at Rip Griffin Park. Dan Klem went 3-for-6 from the leadoff position while Kevin Baron and Kevin Conroy both notched 2-for-4 days with two RBI each.

With the victory, the Explorers improved to 2-3 on the season while the Red Raiders slipped to 5-5.

Baron led off the frame with a single before Brandon Day drew a walk and Klem singled to load the bases. Conroy clubbed a two-out, two-run double later in the inning to cut the Texas Tech lead to 4-3.

Texas Tech responded with a run in the bottom of the inning, which proved to be its last of the evening.

La Salle pushed two more runs across in the eighth to tie the game at five apiece. Welling and Conroy walked to open the inning and were advanced on a Justin Korenblatt sacrifice bunt. Joe Dorsey struck out looking but Baron picked up his slack with a single to center which scored two.
