FAIRFAX, Va. - The men's novice four rowed to gold for the second straight week, besting the likes of Michigan and Maryland along the way to lead La Salle crew at the Occoquan Sprints this weekend.
The boat clocked a 6:20.40, over 10 seconds ahead of second place William & Mary (6:30.67). Michigan came in third, followed by Maryland and Virginia Commonwealth.
The men's varsity eight was also in action, finishing first in the petite final with a time of 5:50.20. The Explorers outlasted Mary Washington by over 20 seconds and topped Carnegie Mellon as well. The V8 got a spot in the petite final via a fourth place finish in its earlier heat, clocking a 5:20.10, ahead of Mary Washington's 5:47.04. Michigan won the heat in 5:14.40.
The junior varsity eight finished fifth in its race with a time of 6:18.16. Michigan won in 5:26.80.
The pair was also in action this weekend, finishing sixth in its race with a time of 7:15.92. North Carolina won in 5:53.70.
