PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle lacrosse squad was named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll once again this season, announced by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association on Tuesday.

Teams with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better are eligible for the distinction.

La Salle was one of 65 Division I squads nationally to earn the recognition. The Explorers join Duquesne, George Washington, Richmond and Temple as 2013 Atlantic 10 teams on the list, as well as city foes Drexel and Penn.

The honor comes on the heels of several academic honors for the squad this season. Caitlyn Brostrand and Melanie Sarcinello were both named to the Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference Team as well as the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team.

In addition, a total of 14 players earned Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll status in at least one semester in the 2012-13 school year for attaining at least a 3.5 term GPA.
