Scouting the Explorers...

The Explorers, who had won six of seven heading into last weekend, hit a stumbling block on the road. They lost a heartbreaker at St. Francis (Pa.), holding the nation's highest-scoring team to just one goal in a 1-0 A-10 setback. They also faced then-No. 15 Temple on Sunday, falling 5-1. Rookie Eileen Dzwill notched her first collegiate goal in the loss to the Owls.

Rookie Kendall Kreider continues to lead the team in scoring with nine points on four goals and one assist. Maddy Tettelbach is second on the squad with seven points on three goals and an assist, and Devin Muracco rounds out the top three with six points on two goals and two assists. Rookie Sophie Lozowski leads the squad with three assists, and has added one goal. In total, 10 players have at least a point.

Sophomore keeper Rachel Hartman once again ranks second in the nation this week with a sparkling .825 save percentage. She is also fifth nationally and first in the A-10 with 7.83 saves per game, and is third among A-10 goalkeepers with a 1.61 goals against average. She recorded 17 total saves last weekend, including eight against the Red Flash while yielding just one goal to the potent St. Francis offense.

Scouting the Billikens...

Saint Louis has struggled again this year, as the Billikens have recorded just two nonconference wins in 2014 and are still in search of their first Atlantic 10 win. The Billikens own wins over Missouri State and Ball State. They traveled to Richmond last weekend, dropping a 2-1 game at VCU before losing 5-0 at Richmond. Alanah Busby scored the weekend's lone goal.

The Billikens have been outscored 63-15 and outshot 289-73 on the season, while giving up 152 penalty corners to just 34 earned corners.

Shannon Knobloch leads the team with seven points on three goals and one assist, and Faith Mackin has a trio of goals for six points. Morgan Crowe and Kristin Collins are tied for third with five points on two goals and an assist each.

A pair of keepers have split goal duties. Tori Westhead has seen the majority of minutes (549), and is recording a 4.59 goals against average and .705 save percentage. Megan Depew-Brady has played 475 minutes, and has a 6.63 goals against average and .632 save percentage.

Scouting the Bears...

Missouri State enters the weekend with a 3-13 overall record, while going 0-3 in the Mid-American Conference. The Bears fell 5-0 at Ball State last Saturday, and will play Central Michigan on Friday prior to the Explorers' contest. Missouri State is no stranger to the A-10 this season, having played Saint Louis twice along with St. Francis and Davidson. The Bears split the series with the Billikens, topped Davidson 2-1 and lost 1-0 to the Red Flash. The Bears also faced Rider and Villanova, both 2014 nonconference opponents of the Explorers.

The Bears have been outscored 48-20, but have been awarded 99 penalty corners to opponents' 94.

Holly Scherer and Charlie Redhead are tied for the team points lead with 11 points on five goals and an assist each. Andrea Soler Codina has contributed nine points on four goals and an assist.

Megan Drew has played all possible minutes in goal, recording a 3.35 goals against average and .568 save percentage.

Next Up

The Explorers return home next weekend for the final home weekend of the season, and looking to make it a perfect 7-0 at DeVincent Field this year. They host Massachusetts on Friday at 3 pm and Bryant on Sunday at noon. The program's seniors will be honored in a pre-game ceremony around 11:45 am on Sunday.
