Women’s Soccer Visits Dayton Friday, Saint Louis Sunday

PHILADELPHIA – La Salle women's soccer looks to remain unbeaten in conference play this weekend as they visit Dayton on Friday night and Saint Louis on Sunday morning.

Scouting the Explorers

The Explorers shutout the Fordham Rams 1-0 on Saturday in their only action last week to move to 3-0 in A-10 play. The Blue and Gold hit the road for two games after playing eight of their last nine games at McCarthy Stadium.

After a goal against Fordham, Kelsey Haycook has scored in her last three games and has collected 10 points during the stretch. The senior now leads the A-10 in goals (11), goals per game (0.85), points (25) and points per game (1.92). Fellow senior Maryam Huseini is tied for fourth in the A-10 in assists this season, and sits just one assist shy of tying La Salle's all-time career record of 33.

Jessica Wiggins recorded her fourth shutout of the season against Fordham on Saturday, and leads the conference in saves per game (5.75).

Scouting the Flyers

The Flyers have won their last 10 home games going back to last season, and are unbeaten in their last 30 conference home matches dating back to 2007. The Flyers opened conference play with a win over Saint Louis at home before falling to Saint Joseph's and beating George Mason on a two-game road swing last weekend.

Junior Ashley Campbell is fourth in the A-10 in goals (8), and fifth in the league in points (20) and points per game (1.43).  Junior Nicole Waters is second in the A-10 in assists (7), while freshman Alexis Kiehl has twice earned A-10 Rookie of the Week so far this season.

The Explorers were victorious in the last two regular season meetings with Dayton, and advanced on penalty kicks over the Flyers in last year's A-10 Championship game.

Scouting the Billikens


After losses to Dayton and George Mason to open conference play, Saint Louis defeated Saint Joseph's 3-2 on Sunday in Philadelphia. The Billikens now return to Hermann Stadium this weekend for the first time since a 4-2 win over Omaha on September 27.

Saint Louis is tied for second in the A-10 in goals per game this season (2.00), while nine different Billikens have recorded at least one goal. Kirsten Clemens leads the way with 16 points (6 goals, 4 assists) and is followed closely by Lindsay Elking and Cristina Rodriguez with 12 points (4 goals, 4assists) each.

La Salle defeated Saint Louis 4-0 in their last meeting back in 2011, but the Billikens lead the Explorers 2-1-1 in the all-time series.
