th minute proved to be the game-winner as the
La Salle men's soccer team fell to the George Washington Colonials on Friday afternoon at the GW Soccer Field.
Matthew Scott put a header in the top left corner of the goal on a cross from Oliver Curry just 15:52 into the first half to provide the game's only scoring.
The Blue and Gold didn't go quietly in the second half, however, registering five of their seven shots after the break.
Colman Kennedy paced the Explorers with three shots while
Joe Farrell fired twice. GW's Koby Osei-Wusu had four shots on the afternoon, including two on goal.
La Salle goalkeeper
David Tuchinsky tallied a game-high six saves to keep the Explorers within striking distance, but GW keeper JP van der Merwe made three saves to preserve the shutout.
The Colonials took seven corner kicks compared to four by La Salle.
The Explorers now look ahead to a matchup with the VCU Rams (4-7-2, 1-0-1 A-10) at Sports Backers Park on Sunday afternoon.
