Tonny Aizpun on its way to a team score of 316 and a sixth place finish at the Lehigh Invitational, which wrapped up on Sunday at Saucon Valley Country Club. The 316 (+28) was the fifth best score of the day among the 12 teams.
"Those were a couple of great rounds from Tonny and P.J. today," head coach
Brad Kane said. "Conditions were not ideal for scoring. There were a lot of high numbers out there in the wind. It's nice to be in the mix after falling a little behind in our last few events."
Despite cold temperatures and strong winds, Acierno and Aizpun posted strong rounds. Acierno followed his 75 from yesterday with a 76 (+4) today to shoot a 151 (+7). He tied for fifth, his best finish as an Explorer.
Aizpun was the low La Salle player on Sunday with his 75 (+3), his second best score as an Explorer. Only five players posted a lower score on Sunday in the 66-player field. His 80-75=155 (+11) tied for 11th, marking his best finish in the Blue and Gold.

Greg Goodreds (84-82=166, +22) and sophomore
Joe Markmann (85-83=168, +24) tied for 49th and 57th, respectively.
As a team, La Salle shot 318-316=634 (+58) for sixth place. The Explorers were one shot behind fifth-place Villanova and six shots out of third place Lafayette.
Towson ran away with the title with a 36-hole score of 602 (+26), beating Rutgers (+45) by 19 strokes. Lafayette (+52) was third, followed by Fordham (+53), Villanova (+57) and La Salle (+58).
Towson's John Hulede shot a 71-77=148 (+4) was the medalist, besting Fordham's Ben Alcorn and Villanova's Zach Egermayer by one shot.
Saucon Valley is one of the top courses in the state and has hosted six USGA events, including the 1992 and 2000 U.S. Senior Opens and the 2009 U.S. Women's Open.La Salle will conclude its fall season on Saturday at the Philadelphia Cricket Club with the Philadelphia Shootout, joining Drexel, Penn, Saint Joseph's and Villanova in the field.Â
