Complete ResultsPHILADELPHIA - The La Salle rowing program competed in the Head of the Schuylkill this weekend, entering six boats in the regatta on a sunny but blustery day on the home river.Â
The men's novice eight rowed a stellar race, finishing sixth out of 32 boats with a time of 13:53.08. The Explorers finished well ahead of seventh place boat Army (14:10.75), and just a few seconds behind Princeton 'A'. Drexel captured the win wiht a time of 13:23.48.The men had an eight boat race in the championship club eight race, finishing 16th out of 19 boats with a time of 15:12.65. They edged Haverford by just under three seconds and were about eight seconds behind 15th place SUNY Geneseo. Drexel 'A' won in 13:06.08, followed by Delaware and Drexel 'B'.The Explorers also entered a championship heavy eight boat, which clocked a 14:23.31 to finish 16th out of 20 boats. The Explorers finished between Loyola 'A' (14:14.86) and Potomac 'B' (14:29.95). A Vesper boat won the race in 12:31.05, followed by Drexel 'A' and a boat entered by The Gold Challenge Cup Foundation.The women's varsity four finished in the middle of a 42-boat field, clocking a 17:55.21 for 22nd place. The Explorers edged out St. John Fisher by just over one second, and finished just behind Saint Joseph's. Princeton 'A' won the race in 16:00.65.
The women also rowed an eight boat in the championship club eight race, clocking a 16:47.15 for 24th place out of 31 boats. The Explorers outlasted Saint Joseph's by far (16:59.91), and finished just behind Drexel 'B' (16:42.15). Drexel 'A' won the race in 15:04.51, followed by Old Dominion and Navy.
The Explorer won also entered a championship heavy eight boat, which finished in 15:59.61 for 18th place out of 19. They topped Washington College (16:42.24). Navy 'A' won the race in 14:19.48, followed by Trinity and Drexel.
