PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's soccer team hosts George Washington on Friday and VCU on Sunday as they open Atlantic 10 conference play.
Scouting the ExplorersLa Salle is in the midst of a five-game homestand looking to rebound from a 3-2 overtime loss to Florida Gulf Coast on Sunday afternoon. On Tuesday, the NSCAA ranked the Blue and Gold as the No. 5 team in the Mid-Atlantic Region.
Kelsey Haycook, who has scored in four of the last five games, is currently third in the A-10 this season for goals scored (six).
Jessika Kagan isn't far behind with five goals, including three goals in the last two games, and ranks tied for seventh in the conference.
Goalkeeper
Larisa Zambelli made her first collegiate start against FGCU on Sunday, recording six saves in 92:10 in the net. The redshirt freshman also made six shots in a scoreless second half at West Virginia on September 19.

Scouting the ColonialsThe Colonials are coming off shutout wins over George Mason and Delaware State, and are tied for the conference lead with 2.00 goals per game. MacKenzie Cowley, the Colonials' leading scorer, is tied for seventh in the league with five goals.
The GW back line has been strong this season, leading the A-10 in goals-against average (0.550), which ranks 24
th in the nation. Miranda Horn patrols the net for the Colonials, and ranks first in the A-10 and 14th in the country with a 0.892 save percentage, as well as first in the league and 21st nationally with a 0.538 goals-against average.
The Colonials squeaked out a 1-0 victory over the Explorers in DC last October to snap La Salle's 19-game A-10 regular season unbeaten streak.

Scouting the RamsVCU routed Longwood University 4-1 their last time out, and have won three of their last four games. Senior forward Maren Johansen has netted six goals on the season, tying her with Haycook for third in the A-10.
Sophomore GK Emma Kruse has played every minute in goal for the Rams this season, tallying 36 saves and a 1.50 goals-against average.
VCU and La Salle battled to a 2-2 draw at Sports Backers Stadium in Richmond last October. The Rams took a 2-0 lead in the first half before a pair of Haycook goals in the second half led to the tie.
