PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle men's basketball team scored 11 unanswered points to start the game and never trailed on its way to a 59-50 victory over Saint Peter's at Tom Gola Arena on Saturday afternoon.

The Explorers (3-0) held Saint Peter's (0-4) to a season-low 50 points, and limited the Peackocks to a 31.7 shooting percentage from the field. The Blue and Gold entered the game 27
th in the nation in opponent's field goal percentage.
La Salle's
Jordan Price poured in a career-high 21 points, including 16 in the second half, to pace the Explorers offense for the second straight game. The redshirt sophomore went for 5-for-17 from the floor and a perfect 9-for-9 from the foul line.
"Basically I was hitting the shots my teammates were providing me with," said Price. "They gave me opportunities to score off of screens and off of dribble drives."
Jerrell Wright tallied his second double-double of the season, pulling down a game-high 12 rebounds to go with 10 points. The senior forward also secured a game-high seven offensive rebounds.
Amar Stukes also chipped in 11 points to pair with three assists, finishing 4-of-7 from the field and 2-of-2 from the line.
La Salle took an 11-0 lead after holding the Peacocks scoreless until an Elisha Boone jumper at the 14:03 mark in the first half, and took a 23-14 lead into halftime. The Explorers limited Saint Peter's to 22.7 percent shooting from the floor before the break, and didn't allow a three until 12:05 remained in the game.
The Peacocks trimmed the deficit to six on a three-pointer from Jamel Fields with 36 seconds left in the game before La Salle hit three free throws down the stretch to help seal the victory.
Saint Peter's Marvin Dominique scored a team-high nine points as no Peacock scored in double figures. Boone, Fields, and Trevis Wyche all finished with eight points.
The Explorers are back in action on Tuesday as they host St. Francis Brooklyn in Tom Gola Arena at 7 p.m.
