Last Time Out
Redshirt sophomore Jordan Price scored 10 of his 20 points during a 13-1 run late in the second half to get the La Salle men's basketball team back in the game but the #8/7 Virginia Cavaliers proved too much to handle in a 64-56 UVa victory on Friday in the Barclays Center Classic. La Salle trailed by as many as 20 points with 13:16 to play before going on a 26-10 run to cut the deficit to just four with 1:12 to play.

"We obviously played an outstanding team," head coach Dr. John Giannini said. "I think that the strength of our team and the weakness was one of the same. We really play with a lot of emotion. Anyone that can see our team play in the second half knows that we played tremendously hard and with a lot of pride. Anyone that was paying attention in the first half can see that we got very frustrated and at times I think we pulled apart a little bit."

Price had 15 of his 20 points after intermission and is averaging 22.3 ppg. in his last four contests. Junior Khalid Lewis added nine points while senior Steve Zack had eight points and seven boards.

All-Time Series
The teams have met just once all-time a 100-95 Vanderbilt win in the 1966-67 season.

Scouting the Explorers
La Salle will look to bounce back from its first loss of the season after falling to nationally-ranked Virginia last night. Price continued to be a bright spot for the Explorer offense, averaging 22.3 ppg. in his last four contests. He was the first opposing player to put up 20 points against Virginia last night and 15 of those points came in the second half.

Khalid Lewis has been solid at the point guard position and added another nine points last night. The Blue and Gold defense also has been solid, holding every opponent except for UVa to 60 points or less. The 64 points Virginia scored are the second least this season.

The Explorers had success on Friday night going with a four-guard lineup, thanks to foul trouble from seniors Jerrell Wright and Steve Zack. Newcomers Price, Cleon Roberts and Amar Stukes, along with veteran D.J. Peterson and Lewis, has provided most of the minutes in that perimeter rotation.

Scouting the Commodores
Vanderbilt is 4-1 after falling last night to Rutgers, 68-65. Damian Jones led Vandy with 23 points while Luke Kornet added 14. The Commodores trailed by as many as 11 points in the first half before tying the game at halftime.

Jones leads the team in scoring at 17.4 ppg. while Kornet (12.8 ppg.) and Riley Lachance (10.8) each score in double-figures for head coach Kevin Stallings. Vanderbilt is shooting 41.1% from three-point range and average almost eight three's per game. Defensively, Vanderbilt is allowing only 57.0 ppg.

The Commodores are a young squad, and start three freshmen and two sophomores.

Next up
The road doesn't get any easier for La Salle as it hosts #12 Villanova on Wednesday at 8:30 PM on CBS Sports Network. Andrew Catalon, Steve Lappas and Jon Rothstein will broadcast for CBSSN.
