PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle men's soccer team earned a 1-0 shutout victory over the Dayton Flyers on Friday night at McCarthy Stadium.
Sophomore
Matt Robinson scored the game-winning goal with 11 seconds left in the first half, burying a free kick inside the left post for the game's only score. The goal was Robinson's fourth of the season, and the third game winner in 2014.
La Salle goalkeeper
Mike Kirk recorded his sixth shutout of the season, tallying five saves on the night. The Explorer backline also tallied a pair of team saves.
Dayton was aggressive early in the game, firing nine of their 14 shots in the first half. The Flyers also controlled corner kicks 4-2.
The Explorers conclude their regular season with a chance to qualify for the A-10 Tournament on Sunday when they host George Mason at 1 p.m. La Salle will celebrate Senior Day in a pregame ceremony beginning at 12:45 p.m.
