Jessika Kagan made a run down the right side of the pitch and sent the ball across the field to Haugstad, who buried the goal on a one-timer from the left post for the golden goal.
After falling behind 1-0 in the 20
th minute, Kagan found
Kelsey Haycook for the game-tying goal in the 50
th minute. Kagan pushed the ball into the box for Haycook, who netted her 19
th goal of the season by beating the keeper to the lower left corner.
George Washington had taken the lead on the strength of a goal by Meg Murphy at 19:42.
Jessica Wiggins tallied four saves to earn her 14
th win of the season. The Colonials recorded 11 shots on the afternoon compared to 17 for the Explorers.
The Explorers will square off with third-seeded Dayton in the title game on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. The Blue and Gold came away with a 1-0 win against the Flyers during the regular season to snap Dayton's 30-game home conference unbeaten streak.
