DAYTON, Ohio – The Dayton women's soccer team scored twice in the second half to edge the top-seed La Salle Explorers 2-1 in Sunday's A-10 Championship Final at Baujan Field.
Dayton's Megan Herr tallied the game-winner in the 72
nd minute on an assist from Erin O'Malley and the Flyers (12-8-2) were able to hold onto the 2-1 advantage over the final 18:14.
La Salle (14-5-2) took a 1-0 lead after
Kelsey Haycook scored her 20
th goal of the season in the 3
rd minute. The senior headed in a
Paige McDowell free kick over UD keeper Heath Betancourt.
Erin O'Malley netted the equalizer for the Flyers in the 69
th minute, scoring on a header after passes from Nicole Waters and Alexis Kiehl.
La Salle keeper
Jessica Wiggins faced 21 shots in the game, recording a game-high seven saves. Betancourt tallied four saves for UD against 20 shots from the Explorers.

Kerri Aiken,
Maryam Huseini and
Jessika Kagan were all named to the All-Championship team for their performances over the course of the tournament.
