Box Score PHILADELPHIA- La Salle volleyball fell to Duquesne 3-0 (21-25, 11-25, 17-25) on Friday night at Tom Gola Arena. Juniors
Kelly Perillo and
Laura Kuhlmeier led the way with seven kills apiece for the Explorers on the night.

Despite falling behind early in set one, La Salle was able to fight back and make things interesting late in the set. Duquesne (16-9, 9-3 A-10) jumped out to an early 10-1 lead thanks to ten straight points. However, the Explorers wouldn't roll over. Down 19-10, La Salle pulled off seven of the next eight points to cut the Dukes lead to 21-17. Â La Salle would go on to score four straight points to cut things further to 23-21 and force Duquesne to call a timeout. The run was fueld by kills from Perillo and sophomore
Ashley Felton. The Dukes would regain composure and see out the set, 25-21 to take a 1-0 lead in the match. Felton and senior
Jennifer Whelan led the way in the set for the Explorers with three kills apiece. Whelan hit .500% in the set and junior
Michelle Healy added ten kills.

Duquesne carried over their momentum into set two pulling out a commanding 25-11 set win. La Salle battled early in the set having things notched up at 5-5. However, Duquesne got hot and went on a run that La Salle wasn't able to keep up with. The Dukes would go on to score 17 of the next 21 points to open up a 22-9 lead that they wouldn't look back from. Perillo and Kuhlmeier each recorded three kills in the second frame. Junior
Erin Noga added five digs from the libero spot.

The Dukes were able to come out and finish off the match in set three, grabbing the frame 25-17. Again, La Salle (10-19, 3-9 A-10) stuck with Duquesne early, but the visitors would go on a run late in the set the Explorers had no answer for. La Salle had things tied up at 9-9 in set three thanks to two kills from Kuhlmeier, one from Felton and one from freshman
Hannah McGary and a string of attack errors from the Dukes. Duquesne would regain their composure and open up a lead late in the set that they wouldn't look back from. Kuhlmeier and McGary led the way in the third from with three kills each.

Junior
Michelle Healy added 23 assists on the night, and now has 955 on the season. She is just 45 assists away from becoming the first Explorer since 2006 to record over 1,000 assists in a single season.
Erin Noga led the way on the backline with 18 digs on the night. This was her 15
th match with double digit digs on the season. Noga also added two service aces on the evening.

La Salle returns to action next week as they close out the regular season. They travel to Dayton for a Friday night matchup, before closing out the season against Saint Louis on Sunday afternoon.
