All-Time Series vs. Bobcats
La Salle and Ohio U have met just once before, a 73-67 Explorer win in Philadelphia on Dec. 29, 1990.

All-Time Series vs. Panthers
Saturday marks the first-ever meeting of La Salle and Georgia State.

Scouting the Explorers
La Salle is coming off of a tough loss at Villanova on Sunday, the first game back from a week off for finals. The Explorer offense was rusty, with the team going just 20.7 percent from the field in the 70-36 setback. The loss was an anomaly in the squad's stellar play as of late. The team rattled off six straight wins for the first six-game win streak since 2011-12 prior to the Villanova game, including a first place finish in the Thanksgiving weekend tournament at LIU Brooklyn and a convincing road win at 2014 NCAA participant Robert Morris.

Micahya Owens is back in the team scoring lead with 14.4 points per game, which ranks her tied for eighth in the Atlantic 10. She chips in 4.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists per outing, and is also third on the team with 10 steals.

Alicia Cropper is the other Explorer in double figures, averaging 13.7 ppg in six games as she missed three early contests due to injury. She is also adding 3.8 boards and 2.8 assists per game.

Siobhan Beslow rounds out the top three scorers by chipping in 7.9 ppg, and leads the Explorers with 6.6 rebounds. Jasmine Alston continues to lead the Atlantic 10 in steals with 3.2 thefts per game, while chipping in 7.3 ppg, 4.8 rpg and a team-high 3.3 apg.

The Explorers average 61.0 ppg while yielding 62.3. They are also shooting 37.9 percent on the season, holding opponents to 37.0 percent. In the six wins, the team went 42.7 percent from the field compared to just 28.0 percent in the three losses.

Scouting the Bobcats
Ohio U looks to snap a two-game skid after winning its first six games of the season. The Bobcats fell to James Madison, 69-62, in their last game this past Monday. They also lost 76-68 to East Carolina prior to that.

The Bobcats feature a high-scoring offense, averaging 78.9 ppg, but are also very stingy on defense in allowing opponents just 57.8 ppg. Their offensive figure includes a 111-60 win at Murray State and reaching the 80-point plateau on three other occasions. They have not scored below 60 points in a single game this season.

A trio of Bobcats average double figures. Preseason All-MAC East selection Kiyanna Black leads the attack with 17.8 ppg. Quiera Lampkins adds 13.8 ppg and a team-high 7.0 rpg, and Lexie Baldwin averages 11.1 ppg and 6.1 rpg.

The Bobcats were slated to finish fourth in the MAC's East Division, and garnered one first-place vote despite a 9-21 record last year (4-14 in Mid-American Conference play).

Scouting the Panthers
Georgia State snapped a three-game slide in its last time out, as the Panthers defeated Tennessee Tech 72-60 last Saturday in Atlanta. The Panthers enter the weekend with a 4-3 record, and will face Massachusetts in the opening game of the Holiday & Hoops Classic.

Three Panthers are averaging double figures, led by Kayla Nolan with 13.4 ppg. Preseason All-Sun Belt Third Team pick Alisha Andrews is hitting 11.0 ppg while dishing out 4.0 apg, and Makeba Ponder chips in 10.3 ppg. Preseason All-Sun Belt Second Team pick Brittany Logan is averaging nearly a double-double of 9.7 ppg and a team-high 9.4 rpg.

The Panthers are outscoring opponents 73.3 to 64.3 and are shooting just over 40 percent on the season.

They were selected to finish fourth in the 11-team Sun Belt Conference.

Next Up
La Salle wraps up the nonconference portion of the schedule with a pair of home games over Christmas week. The Explorers host Fairfield on Sunday (12/28) at 1 pm and UMBC on Tuesday (11/30) at 2 pm as part of a men's/women's doubleheader.
