PHILADELPHIA – Junior Kevin Baron has been named Big 5 Player of the Week for games played February 24 through March 2, it was announced Tuesday. Baron went 7-for-14 over the weekend in a three game series at Western Carolina.

The Towson, Md. recorded hits and touched home in all three weekend games. He also drew two walks from the leadoff position, reaching base safely in 9 of 16 opportunities (.563 OBP). Baron recorded a season-high four knocks on Saturday.

The Calvert Hall product carries a nine-game hitting streak and has reached base in all 11 games this season. He leads the club in batting (.333), runs (6), hits (15), walks (7), and on base percentage (.423).
