PHILADELPHIA – Meghan McGlinchey ran a 16:07.32 in the 5000 meter run on Thursday evening at the Penn Relays, besting the outdoor school record she set a year ago at the ECAC Championships (16:15.52) by more than eight seconds. The senior placed second in the event, finishing just 11-hundredths of a second behind Cally Macumber of Kentucky (16:07.21).

McGlinchey, who owns La Salle's indoor and outdoor 5k records, finished runner-up in Thursday's field that featured 30 of the nation's top distance runners. Her time was better than four seconds ahead of the third place finisher, Christina Melian of Stony Brook (16:11.88).

Earlier in the day, the women's distance medley relay team clocked an 11:58.26, coming in 14th in the 19-team field. Tori Pisco (3:38.43), Shannon Dwyer (59.08), Cayleigh Solano (2:18.30), and Taylor Hackett (5:02.47) combined for the mark. Their time was sandwiched in between James Madison (11:56.80) and Saint Joseph's (12:01.63).

The DMR lineup will rearrange for Saturday's 4x800 meter relay at 4:20 p.m.
