Lacrosse Named IWLCA Honor Squad

PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle lacrosse squad was named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll for the 2013-14 academic year, announced by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association on Monday.

Teams with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better are eligible for the distinction.

La Salle was one of 84 Division I squads nationally to earn the recognition, up from 65 last year. The Explorers join Duquesne, George Washington, Massachusetts, Richmond and Saint Joseph's as 2014 Atlantic 10 teams on the list. All six Division I schools in Philadelphia were named to the honor roll.

The honor comes on the heels of several academic honors for the squad this season. Caitlyn Brostrand earned her second straight Academic All-Conference honor and senior Katie Marasco was named Academic All-Conference.

In addition, a total of 18 players earned Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll status during the spring season for earning semester GPAs of at least 3.5.
