PHILADELPHIA – A goal from La Salle junior Joe Farrell in the 48^th minute helped the Explorers to a 1-0 victory over the Bucknell Bison at McCarthy Stadium on Tuesday night.

Senior Tom Baker threaded a pass from the far side of the pitch into the box towards Farrell, who chipped the goalie inside the near post. The goal was Farrell's third this season while Baker recorded his first assist of the year on the play.

The Bison (4-4) recorded 15 shots to La Salle's eight and controlled corner kicks 8-4, but the defensive third held tight for the Explorers (2-4-1) as they earned their second straight win. Dating back to last season, the Explorers are now unbeaten in their last six home games.

Goalkeeper Mike Kirk recorded a career-high seven saves, including three in the second half to preserve the 1-0 lead. The junior also made a highlight reel save in the 39^th minute, swatting a Justin Galiani chip following a skirmish in front of the net.

The Explorers look to make it three wins in a row as they visit the Manhattan Jaspers on Friday night at Gaelic Park.
