Philadelphia, Pa. - La Salle travels to Towson, Md. this weekend as they participate in the Towson Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The Explorers open the tournament with a rematch of last weekend's bout with Coppin State on Friday at 4 p.m. before taking on Saint Peter's and Towson on Saturday at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. respectively.

For those who will be in attendance Saturday, Towson has requested that you budget some extra time to enter the arena as there are several events going on campus throughout the day.

Scouting the La Salle ExplorersLa Salle enters the weekend sitting at 2-3 on the year after a tough midweek 3-1 loss to Howard.The Explorers are led by senior Jennifer Whelan who has 49 kills on the year and is coming of a weekend that saw her earn La Salle Invitational All-Tournament team honors.La Salle also has a formidable attacking option in junior Kelly Perillo who tallied a career high 25 kills in a win against Coppin State last Saturday.
Scouting the Towson TigersTowson is coming off winning the Bryant Tournament by going 3-0 on the weekend. The Tigers didn't drop a set all weekend against UMass-Lowell, Army and Bryant.
The Tigers top offensive option thus far has been Iosia Saitaua, who finished last weekend with a team leading 45 kills and hitting at an impressive .393 rate.
This is the 20
th matchup between Towson and La Salle with Towson holding the 19-2 advantage and the last meeting occurring in 2012, a 3-0 Tigers win.

Scouting the Coppin State EaglesCoppin State enters the Towson Invitational at 2-2 on the year after participating in the La Salle Invitational last year. The Eagles won their first two matchups against NJIT (3-0) and Loyola (Md.) (3-1), before falling to La Salle (2-3) and Manhattan (2-3) on the tournament's second day.
The Eagles top player so far this season has been Cindy Okpegbue. Okpedbue notched 79 kills at a .266 clip with four service aces last weekend on her way to a La Salle Invitational All-Tournament team spot.
This will be the 8
th matchup between Coppin and La Salle with the Explorers holding a 6-1 advantage after La Salle picked up the 3-2 win in last weekend's La Salle Invitational.

Scouting the Saint Peter's PeacocksSaint Peter's is 0-2 on the season after dropping their opening game of the year at St. John's (0-3) last weekend and as well as a midweek matchup against NJIT (1-3).
The Peacocks best offensive threats so far have been senior Dayana Arrufat and junior Lauren Behrens. Arrufat leads the team with 23 kills on the year while Behrens averages 2.71 kills per set while hitting at a .250 clip.
This will be just the second career matchup between the two schools with La Salle winning the previous meeting 3-0 in 2011.
