New York, N.Y.- Top ten finishes from
Vince Perozze,
Chris Trimble, and the La Salle A 4x800 meter relay team led the Explorers at the New York City Gotham Cup on Friday at the Armory Track.

Graduate student
Vince Perozze turned in the top finish of any Explorer on the day in the 1 mile run. Perozze finished in 4:13.16 which earned him a second place finish. He finished 1.02 seconds off of the winner in a field of 90 runners. Teammates sophomore
Stephen Lewandowski and junior
David Ozarowski also competed in the event finishing in 4:20.03 and 4:30.17 for 14
th and 42
nd place finishes respectively.

Junior
Chris Trimble turned in the next best La Salle finish of the day coming in 8
th place in the 800 meter run thanks to a time of 1:55.81. Two other Explorers were in the field of 92 for the event with freshmen
Nick Smart finishing in 1:59.61 and
Collin Pierlott finishing in 2:03.59 for 28
th and 52
nd place finishes overall.

Freshman
Justin Guerre competed in two events for the Explorers finishing in 30
th of 88 in the event thanks to a time of 22.73 seconds. He turned in a top 20 time finishing in 18
th place in the 60 meter dash preliminary with a time of 7.04 seconds. Guerre narrowly missed out on qualifying for the 12 man final in the field of 100 runners. Senior
Francis Mancho also competed in the event turning in a time of 7.151 for a 34
th place finish.

Sophomore
Bradley Heuer ran an 8:38.89 in the 3000 meter run to finish in 15
th place in a field of 75 runners. This was Heuer's best time in the event since he has been at La Salle beating his previous mark by 14 seconds. Classmate
Nick Lefavor turned in a time of 9:23.75 for a 65
th place finish as well in the event.

Freshman
Kenneth Worthington turned in two impressive performances in the long jump and high jump. In the long jump he finished in 16
th place with a distance of 21'11.75'' in a field of 51 athletes. He also competed in the high jump finishing in 25
th place thanks to a jump of 6'4.25''. Fellow freshman
Jordan Bryan also competed in the long jump finishing in 22
nd overall thanks to a leap of 21'7.25''.

Two Explorers competed in the 500 meter dash as sophomore
Cris Hunter finished in a time of 1:07.66 while freshman
Michael Hagan ran a 1:10.86 for 34
th and 62
nd place finishes respectively.

Nick Della Vecchia and freshman
David Reick both competed in the 60 meter hurdles preliminaries with Dell Vecchia finishing with a time of 9.03 seconds and Reick a time of 9.31 seconds to finish in 55
th and 67
th place respectively.

The 4x800 meter relay team finished with a time of 8:06.4 for a tenth place finish in the 16 team event.

La Salle returns to action next Friday when they travel down to North Bethesda, Md. to compete in the Georgetown Invitational.Â
