PHILADELPHIA- The La Salle women's track and field team will head to Jadwin Gymnasium in Princeton, N.J. for the Princeton Tiger Invite this Friday. The Explorers will compete against athletes from 18 different colleges. Live results for the event can be followed thanks to

There will be 14 Explorers competing in seven events on the day. Sophomore
Amber Jackson will be the sole La Salle athlete to compete in two events as she represents the team in the long jump field and the triple jump. The long jump field features 23 women with Jackson holding a career best of 5.61 meters in the event achieved at the Jack Pyrah Invitational last year. Her career best in the triple jump is 11.12m achieved last season and this will be the first time this season she competes in the event.

Three La Salle runners will compete in the 46 women 1 mile run field. Senior
Taylor Hackett owns a career best time of 5:01.94 in the event achieved at the Atlantic 10 Championships last season. Sophomore
Olivia Boyer had her best career time in the event at last season's Hoya Spiked Shoe Invitational with a time of 5:34.65. Freshman
Megan Connell will be running the mile for the first time in her collegian career after running on the cross country team during the fall season.

A pair of upperclassmen will lead the Explorers in the 800 meter run with junior
Kate Conville and senior
Shannon Dwyer competing for La Salle. Conville recorded her best career indoor time in the event as a freshman running a 2:24.14 at the Jack Pyrah Invitational in 2012. Dwyer clocked a 2:23.75 in the event during the 2012 Wesley Brown Classic.

Freshman
Carolyn Boyce will be the sole La Salle entry into the 500 meter run field of 29. Boyce has never run that distance but did run the 400 and 300 meter races at the NYC Gotham Cup and Jack Pyrah Invitational earlier this season.

Two upperclassmen and a freshman will represent the Explorers in the 1000 meter run field of 31. Junior
Rebecca Scardelletti ran a 3:13.24 in the event at the Jack Pyrah Invitational earlier this season. Senior
Cayleigh Solano also competed in the event at the Pyrah running a 3:02.80 while freshman Ifetyao will be running the distance for the first time in her collegian career.

Pairs of freshmen and seniors will compete in the 32 man field of the 3000 meter run for the Explorers. Freshman
Michelle Myland and
Morgan Szekely will both be running the event for the first time in their collegian careers. Myland competed in last weekend's NYC Gotham Cup in the mile while Szekely comes off a fall cross country season that saw her win the Atlantic 10 Championship and advance to the NCAA Championships. Senior Molly Mickel ran the 3000 at the Jack Pyrah Invitational last year finishing in a career best time of 10:33.02 with classmate
Courtney Cramer also competing in the event with a time of 11:05.94.

The team will return to action next weekend when they travel to State College for the two day Penn State National Invitational on Friday and Saturday as well as sending some athletes to Fairfax for the Patriot Games on Saturday.Â
