AMHERST, Mass. – The La Salle women's soccer team fell
1-0 in double overtime to Massachusetts on Thursday afternoon at Rudd Field as the Minutewomen scored in the 110
th and final minute of the second overtime.
Julia Weithofer scored the game-winner for the Minutewomen with just 46 seconds remaining after UMass secured a free kick. Weithofer deposited the ball into the right side of the net for her first goal of the season.
Kristin Haugstad had La Salle's best scoring opportunity in extra time, putting a shot on goal in the 103
rd minute. UMass keeper Cassidy Babin made one of her six saves on the play to extend the match.

Katie Getzinger made five saves on the afternoon, including three in the second half to help send the game into overtime. Massachusetts (4-3-2, 1-0 A-10) rattled off 27 shots in the game compared to La Salle's 16.

Marcela Robinson also tallied shots on target for La Salle (3-5-1, 0-1 A-10).
La Salle returns home on Sunday for the first time in a month to host the Davidson Wildcats at McCarthy Stadium at 1 PM.
