PRINCESS ANNE, Md.- The La Salle volleyball team fell 3-0 (23-25, 20-25, 19-25) to Maryland Eastern Shore on Tuesday night. Senior Kelly Perillo and freshman Byranna Davis tied for the team lead with nine kills on the evening.
 
The two teams remained tight throughout much of set one, but the hosts were able to close it out for a 25-23 set win. Perillo and Davis each had five kills in the first frame with Davis hitting .444 and Perillo hitting .625 in the frame. Freshman Jensen Sharrits, who finished with 16 digs, tallied seven in the first frame. The Explorers used three service aces to aid their offense which hit .355 as a team in the frame.
 
The Hawks continued to roll in set two thanks in part to a 7-2 run midway through the set that opened up a 7 point lead for the hosts from which they never looked back on the way to a 25-20 set win. Junior Ashley Felton and Perillo each had a pair of kills for the Explorers.
 
UMES was able to close out the match with a 25-19 set three win. La Salle was unable to slow down the hosts as they hit .344 in the final frame. Sharrits added six digs in the set while Davis had a pair of service aces to go with four kills.
 
Freshman Taylor Hite finished with 26 assists on the night.
 
La Salle returns to action as they travel to VCU and Davidson on Friday and Sunday respectively.
