PHILADELPHIA-
The La Salle men's swimming and diving team picked up a win in a dual meet over Villanova on Wednesday evening at Kirk Pool. Sophomore Jakub Bartosiewicz won two individual events and was a part of two separate relay team wins.
 
The sophomore won the 200-yard freestyle race thanks to a time of 1:44.68, which was nearly two seconds clear of the field. He returned to win the 500-yard freestyle thanks to a time of 4:47.56 which beat out teammate freshman Aleksandar Nikolic who was second in 4:51.41.
 
Bartosiewicz also swam as a part of the 200-yard freestyle relay team which won with a time of 1:29.18. He swam the third leg of the 400-yard medley relay to help the team win the race with a 3:27.89 time.

 
"We are continuing on the right path," added head coach Jamie Platt. "Each week, we are taking steps forward and becoming a more cohesive team on the boards and in the pool.  The season is young, but when we continue this growth, only great things can occur!"

 
Sophomore Dylan Yurasits won two diving events, taking home the title in both the 1-meter and three meter events. In the one meter he edged out teammate senior CJ Gimpel with 276.83 points while the senior was close behind with 276.76.

 
Yurasits and Gimple were the top two in three meter diving as well with Yurasits scoring 238.80 and Gimpel scoring a 220.05.
 
Junior Mattias Glenesk won the 1000-yard freestyle race thanks to a time of 9:51.31, which was 8.1 seconds clear of the nearest competitor. Classmate Jerry Gravel swam a 54.08 to win the 100-yard backstroke, which was 1.9 seconds over teammates Mike Stein and Johan Roth. 
 
Sophomore Dimitrije Mladenovic bested a six man field in the 100-yard breaststroke thanks to a 1:00.11 time.
 
Senior Johan Roth won the 200-yard medley race while also swimming on two winning relay teams. He swam a 1:57.44 to win the medley race my .34 seconds over teammate sophomore Fabian Bergman.
 
Junior Strahinja Stankovic won the 50-yard freestyle race with a 22.28 time. He was also part of the 200-yard freestyle team that topped the podium.
 
Freshman Aleksandar Nikolic won the 100-yard freestyle race with a 48.3 time to take home the title over the six man field.
 
Senior Justin Hughes won the 200-yard backstroke event thanks to a time of 1:57.67 which was nearly two seconds better than the nearest competitor.
 
La Salle returns to action on Friday as they head across Philadelphia to take on Drexel.
